My robot lawn mower has a Discord presence, a website, and an alert system that texts my wife if he goes missing.

His name is LeeRoy. He lives in a garage on our farm in Middle Tennessee. A Raspberry Pi 4B with an ultrasonic distance sensor monitors when he's home (parked in the garage) or away (out mowing).

When LeeRoy leaves, the Pi snaps a photo, logs the event, and starts a mowing session timer. If he's been gone longer than 4 hours, alerts fire — Discord, email, and SMS to both me and my wife. Because when a robot lawn mower goes AWOL in rural Tennessee, you want to know about it.

He has his own website at leeroy.dizydiz.com with live status, mowing session history, camera captures, and system telemetry. WebSocket updates mean the dashboard refreshes in real time.

The kids have named him. They check his website. They run outside when Alexa announces he's back. A robot lawn mower has somehow become a family member.

Is this overengineered for a lawn mower? Absolutely. But it started as "I wonder if he's still mowing" and turned into a full monitoring platform. That's how every good project starts.
